Grammy Award-winning band Coldplay performed at El Paso’s Sun Bowl Stadium on June 13 and 14 as part of their Music of the Spheres world tour. Nearly 50,000 fans attended the show, which were the band’s only performance in Texas. The concerts took place with the beautiful Franklin Mountains in the background, which was adding a special flavor. Some fans chose to watch the show from the mountains behind the stadium, sitting on the rocky hills for a free view of the concert. The videos which were shared online shows that the fans enjoying the music from above.
Lead singer Chris Martin noticed the audience sitting at the mountain top during the concert. He smiled and gave them a warm greeting from the stage, saying, "I see you and we welcome you too." Later in the night, Martin even improvised a fun song for the hillside fans, singing, "Hello my beautiful brother and sister. I hope you get some good sleep, your tickets were very cheap. Well, matter fact, your tickets were free."
Fans near the stage cheered and waved toward the mountains. Then Martin thanked everyone for creating such a friendly and united atmosphere at the concert.
