Indian Man Celebrated Divorce with Milk Bath and 'Happy Divorced' Cake
A video of an Indian man celebrating his divorce with an unusual ritual a milk bath alongside his mother has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion. The man, identified in the Instagram video as Biradar DK, was filmed participating in the ceremonial milk bath. Following the ritual, he changed into traditional attire and cut a cake with the inscription, "Happy Divorced."
In the video's caption, Biradar DK encouraged others, writing, "Please be happy and celerate ur self and dont be depressed." He also made a personal statement about the financial settlement: "120 gram gold aur 18 lakh cash liya nahi diya hu. Single hoon, khush hoon, azad hoon, meri zindagi, meri rules, single aur happy," which translates to: “Have given 120 grams of gold and Rs 18 lakh cash. I am single, happy, and free. My life, my rules, single and happy.”
While divorce celebrations are not common in India, the video prompted an array of reactions online. The man's choice to include his mother in the ritual suggests he had his family's full support during the transition. Many social media users viewed his divorce as a positive step.
