Jaipur: During the ED raid on 2nd July in the Mahadev Satta App case at the five-star hotel Fairmount in Kukas, Jaipur, the accused Saurabh Ahuja, who was getting married there, fled leaving his bride in the room after completing the wedding rituals. The ED has detained three accused staying at the hotel, who are being questioned.
According to sources, the ED had received a tip-off about high-profile individuals linked to the online betting app attending the wedding. The accused, Saurabh Ahuja, is said to be closely associated with Mahadev app promoter Saurabh Chandrakar. Saurabh’s brother, Honey Ahuja, was also present at the wedding. Both brothers, originally from Bhopal, had been living in Nehru Nagar, Bhilai, and were under surveillance for several months. They have allegedly been involved in online betting and virtual casino operations since 2017-18.
The ED team began the raid around 6 AM. Three rooms were booked at the hotel under the pretext of the wedding, where six individuals, including the Ahuja brothers, were staying. During the search, officials seized laptops, mobile phones, foreign currency, fake documents, and other electronic devices. Initial investigation has revealed financial transactions worth crores of rupees linked to the Mahadev betting app network. Three suspects have been detained for questioning.
