A major shift is underway in how India’s Gen Z is planning celebrations. Instead of hiring traditional event planners, young couples and families are opting for click-and-book packages for birthdays, weddings, and pre-wedding functions. Reports show that over 60% of users aged 22–30 now prefer online aggregator platforms for event planning i.e. driven by speed, transparency, and control.
Take the case of 24-year-old Ishita Mehra from Mumbai, who planned her entire engagement party through a wedding-tech platform in under 20 minutes. “I didn’t want to waste weeks meeting vendors or getting fake quotes. I just wanted a decent package, clear pricing, and real reviews,” she said. Like Ishita, many young users are turning to platforms like Event Planet, which offer curated vendor packages with upfront rates, visuals, and direct bookings, no middlemen involved.
With Gen Z’s digital-first mindset, traditional event planners are slowly losing relevance. What used to take days of phone calls and meetings is now done in a few taps. As this trend grows, platforms offering transparent, tech-enabled planning solutions are quickly becoming the new norm for India’s next-gen celebrants.
