Being 'Too Innocent' Can Lead to Divorce
Moradabad: A strange case has come to light from Moradabad where a newlywed woman left her husband just four days after their wedding, claiming he was "too innocent" to be her life partner. She said his behavior didn’t match her expectations and that he wasn’t mature enough to handle married life. Soon after, she returned to her parental home.
The woman later lodged a formal complaint at the local police station. Despite repeated efforts by the police to counsel the couple and reconcile them, both sides refused to come together. The relationship could not be repaired, and both families accepted that the marriage was effectively over. A community panchayat was held to settle the issue, where it was decided that the groom’s family would pay ₹6 lakh as compensation to the bride’s side. The incident has sparked discussions locally about compatibility and maturity in arranged marriages.
