The video, originally shared on Instagram by the couple, was later reshared on X by a user named Matakti Aankhein, who claimed the bride had to arrange the cab herself because “no one in the groom’s family cared about her.” The post quickly went viral, with many calling the incident humiliating and criticizing the groom’s family for ruining the bride’s bidaai moment.

Responding to the controversy, the couple released a video explaining the actual situation. The groom clarified that the car arranged by his family broke down on the way to the venue. Since it is a ritual in their community for the groom to stay at the bride’s home for four days, the bride booked a cab herself because she knew the exact address, making it easier for them to reach her home.
